RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

Ribbon Cutting Guidelines

The Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce is excited to celebrate your new business or significant milestone with a formal Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies are a wonderful opportunity to showcase your business, celebrate your success, and bring together Village officials and community members to offer their congratulations and support as you move forward. The following outline highlights how we’ll partner with you to plan and execute a memorable event.

What is a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony?

Ribbon cutting ceremonies are performed for business openings but they can also be requested for big milestones including:

  • Business anniversary
  • Expansion or relocation
  • New management

Not a Chamber member? No problem—you're still welcome to celebrate your milestone with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!

Scheduling a Ribbon Cutting

Ribbon Cutting events held during the lunch hour on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays typically receive the highest attendance from elected officials and members of the business community. To ensure a well-organized and well-attended event, businesses are encouraged to schedule their ceremony at least four to six weeks in advance of their preferred date, allowing adequate time for planning and promotion. Hosting an open house around the ribbon-cutting time works well, as it ensures guests are already present.
